The First Look After Unboxing It: Design and Details
After receiving it, I opened its box and took it out, and then initially, the overall design was the same as the Brother CS7000X sewing machine. But after a closer look at it, I found that it has more accessories and a presser foot in the box.
Then I analyzed other body parts and things; I found it has 4 buttons on the right side of the machine around the LCD screen. The bobbin winder and spool pin are on the top of the machine. There is a Round Dial on the front left side just above the Workspace mentioning 0 to 9, which is for selecting the thread tension.
On the right, you will see a panel where you will see the 70 built-in stitches, clearly mentioning all the different types. The best thing is that this panel has White Text on the Navy Blue Background, giving a clear contrast. This is also the plus point over Brother CP60X, where there is White Text on the Light Blue Background, which is a little difficult for those with weaker eye sights.

The best part is that you can see the stitch design with every number, which is helpful for beginners.
Additionally, you will get 7 different buttonhole stitches which is also a plus point.

The distinct feature that sets it apart from Brother LX3817a, CP60X, CS7000i, and other competitors in the same league is its quilting capabilities. This can help sew wider fabrics for bedding, curtains, etc.
You can insert and remove this table according to your wish. And the process is extremely straightforward.

This feature is the same as I found in my previous sewing machine Brother CP60X because both have free arms. This feature is especially for circular sewing items like hems, cuffs, etc. However, the additional benefit of this free arm is that you can store sewing machine accessories there.

Brother CS7000X has an LED light that will enhance the visibility of the project when you sew on dim light. And what is more interesting is that it is packed with dual LED lights, an upgrade to the Brother CP60X, with a single light feature.
Bobbin Winding
Bobbin winding is also straightforward. Its bobbin winder is on the top of the machine beside the spool pin. Beside the spool pin, you will see a small diagram telling you how to wind the bobbin. Only practice once or twice, then you can learn it easily.
Needle Threader
The needle threader is one of the features that most beginners and I love to have in their sewing machines because it saves you from the exhaustion of inserting threads and eye strains.
Fortunately, Brother CS7000X has this feature as expected. Though it is not perfect, it is still far better than most other models like the CS6000i. Additionally, it has a small metal hook protected with plastic, which can save it from bending.
Twin Needle Capabilities
Well, twin stitches may not be as productive as you can make with Cover-Stitch sewing machines or double-needle lockstitch sewing machines. Still, you have the option which can make two good side-by-side stitches for less demanding fabrics.
To do that, you will see an extra hole on the top of the sewing machine where you can insert an additional spool pin to insert a spare thread spool. This way, you can make two parallel stitches.
Why Is Brother CS7000X A Great Computerized Sewing Machine For Beginners?
1. User-friendly Interface
Brother has made it keeping in mind the sewing skill level of beginners. It has simple 4 buttons for selection of the right and also an intuitive LCD screen, but sadly it is not a touchscreen.
It has a convenient free arm, and also you can attach a wide table for quilting that you can do within seconds. It has a smooth handwheel which is small and decent.
Moreover, you won’t find any fancy dials, buttons, knobs, or levers. Therefore, it is great for beginners.
U-shaped button: It has a button on the front left side which is used for reverse stitch options.
Needle Up-down button: On the right of the U Shaped button, you will find another round button for adjusting the height of the needle according to your desire. This is mainly used for thick sewing fabrics.
Slider for speed controlling: you will see a slider button, just beside the Needle Up-down button, that is used to manage the pace of sewing, and this button is not available on Brother CP60X, which I have reviewed as well.
Computerized Screen: Computerized screen makes it a perfect choice for beginners because it is small, simple, and located on the right side of the machine. But keep in mind it doesn’t have a touchscreen.
When you select any settings like a stitch, presser foot, stitch length, width, etc., you will see the result on the screen in a simple form. So every entry-level sewer can get used to this machine easily within no time.

Weight and size can increase and decrease the portability of a sewing machine. Luckily, this compact Computerised quilting machine is made for beginners; therefore, it is light and manageable. It weighs 14 pounds, and its dimensions are 6.65 “D x 16.26 “W x 12.21 “H. The same is with the Brother CP60X sewing machine.
You can easily take it with you wherever you want to go. But the table can be an issue with its portability. But don’t worry; you will insert it when needed; otherwise, keep it aside.
How Fast Is Brother CS7000X Sewing Machine?
According to the Brother Official Website, this sewing machine has a sewing speed of 750 stitches per minute which is a great speed for beginners.
Well, it was weird because Brother CS6000i has a sewing speed of 850 SPM, which is more than the Brother CS7000X.
But after researching why Brother has decreased the sewing speed, I found that due to the need of beginners, they reduced the rate to 750, which beginners can have great control over.
Setting Up and Getting Started With The Brother CS7000X
Setting up this sewing machine is easy as everything is mentioned in the user manual and on the machine’s body. Simply connect it to the power supply, then the foot pedal with the machine. After that, you can use it easily.
For threading, you need to place a thread spool in the spool pin on the top of the machine. Then you can follow the signs on the machine for threading which is helpful.
With a few practices, you can learn everything.
What did I find About Brother CS7000X User’s Manual?
It is common for every user to face difficulties initially in setting up a sewing machine. So for that, Brother has added a Trilingual User manual in English, Spanish, and French so that people of these languages can easily understand.
As the sewing machine is for beginners, the user manual is also designed with simple-to-follow instructions, labeled diagrams, and clear headings.

Should You Use It For Different Types Of Fabrics?
In simple words, YES, but these fabrics should not be too tough. Well, with this sewing machine, you can make different designs, from simple to bedding and curtains. As I mentioned, it has a wide table so that you can use it for wider fabrics.
In simple terms, fabric length is not an issue with this sewing machine, but the nature of fabrics should be light to moderate.
What I Found After Testing It With Thick Fabrics?
Performance is the thing most buyers want to know about. Because if it performs badly, then they will not invest in it. In terms of performance, it is great but only for lightweight to moderate fabrics.
Unlike Brother CP60X, this sewing machine can perform better with Denim, leather, and Jeans, but to a limited extent. For that, insert a compatible needle along with thread and then start sewing but make sure to be slow and, if possible, use a handwheel in between the work.
But if you want to use it for regular sewing of tough fabrics, then I will be honest here and suggest that you don’t buy it for this purpose.
So it means it is a great sewing machine for beginner-level sewers, not for advanced ones.

So after reviewing it thoroughly from all angles, such as its overall body, buttons, dials, stitches, presser foot, accessories, and sewing capabilities, and comparing it with its closest predecessors. I can easily say that it can be the best buy for you if you are a beginner.
Overall, I will not recommend it to advanced sewers due to the lack of modern and advanced functionalities. However, for intermediate sewers, I recommend going with Brother HC1850, which has 185 stitches that can be great for you.
So long story short, if you are a beginner and want a computerized and quilting sewing machine, then go for Brother CS7000X.
